Repeated tripping is a message, not a malfunction. A protection device disconnects a circuit because something exceeded a limit — current, pressure or temperature. - Clamp meter on each phase while starting — current was 38% above nameplate on one phase.
- Condenser inspection — fins packed with dust from the roof plant area.
- Contactor inspection — pitted contacts, causing a voltage drop on start.
- Head pressure reading — high, consistent with poor heat rejection, not with a refrigerant problem.
Three findings, one story: the machine was working harder than it was designed to because it could not get rid of heat, and a worn contactor made every start worse. Cleaning alone would have helped for a week; replacing the contactor alone would have hidden the real cause. Both were needed.
